Members of Congregation B'nai Jacob- Jersey City
Alan and I moved to Society Hill in Jersey City in November of 2005. We really didn't know any Jewish people and weren't familiar with any local Synagogues, so we would often drive all the way to my parent's Synagogue in Matawan for Shabbat.
We were driving down West Side Avenue one day and saw a Synagogue- B'nai Jacob. We figured we might as well check it out, it being right around the corner from us! We went on a Saturday morning for Shabbat services and loved every aspect of it. The congregants were just so warm and welcoming and immediately made us feel right at home.
A year and a half later we are full fledged members of B'nai Jacob and even had our Aufruf there a couple months ago before our wedding. Between Shabbat Dinners, activities, and Holidays, the Congregation of B'nai Jacob, has become like family to us. It's so nice to know there is an active Jewish community in Hudson County. I'm so glad we moved here!
