ONE BOOK ONE COMMUNITY - How Did Israel Become a Water-Rich Country in the Middle of the Desert? Print E-mail
Written by webmacher

Find out at Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey's One Book, One Community culminating celebration: 7 pm on Wednesday, May 10 at The Frisch School, 120 West Century Road, Paramus.

At this open community event, Seth M. Siegel (author of Let There Be Water: Israel's Solution for a Water-Starved World) will speak about how Israel can serve as a model on water conservation for the United States and countries everywhere. With 60 percent of its country made of desert, Israel not only has solved its water problem it also has an abundance of water which it supplies to neighboring countries. Seth's talk will be followed by a Q&A session (where audience members can ask Seth their questions) and a delicious dessert and coffee reception. This event is open to all; tickets are $18. Join the fun! (R.S.V.P. at ).

One Community is a year-long program that brings the northern New Jersey Jewish community together. Participating synagogues, JCCs, agencies, and other community groups offer a wide array of programs and events centered on the selected title and its themes. These events range from family-oriented activities, to film screenings, walking tours, museum visits, cooking demonstrations, lectures, book discussions, special Shabbats, and more. This is the sixth year that Federation has offered One Book, One Community - and each year has featured intriguing programs on a variety of themes.
