Press Release- Jersey Tribe Print E-mail
Written by Sara Levenstein
Bayonne, NJ - On March 21, 2010, ten members from Jersey Tribe joined with Jewish Family Service of MetroWest to deliver Passover food packages to nearly 60 homebound elderly people in Hudson County. The food packages were donated from ShopRite and Crystal Plaza of Livingston, and filled with matzoh, a chicken dinner, horseradish, soup, and macaroons. After dividing into carpools, the volunteers delivered the packages and spent some time chatting with the elderly.
Jersey Tribe's next event is a happy hour on April 8 at 7 p.m. at Old Bay in New Brunswick. Piper Huggins, Executive Director of SAVE: A Friend to Homeless Animals, an animal shelter located in Princeton, will have details about volunteer opportunities and how to sponsor or adopt a pet. Maoz Vegetarian, a new felafel restaurant on Church Street in New Brunswick, will be raffling off a gift card to a lucky Jersey Triber.
Jersey Tribe members range in age from 22 to 40 (give or take a year or two), have diverse Jewish backgrounds, come from towns across northern and central New Jersey and are a mix of singles, couples and marrieds. We typically have two events per month and we welcome suggestions and help with activities and nonprofit partners. For more information, visit
